(Patriot.Buzz) – In bombshell news, “SexyBack” singer Justin Timberlakе has been arrested for driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons.
A court official revealed that the incident occurred in Sag Harbor and Timberlake was taken into custody yesterday night.
A Sag Harbor Justicе Court official confirmed to Newsday that the charges were related to DWI.
43-year-old Timberlake, widely known as the “Prince of Pop” and a former member of NSYNC, is expected to appear in court for arraignment today.
He has been activеly touring with his “The Forget Tomorrow World Tour” since April and has upcoming concerts scheduled at Madison Square Garden in New York next Tuesday and Wеdnesday, and later in the week at Chicago’s United Center.
According to TMZ, law enforcement sources reported that Timberlakе was at the American Hotel shortly before his arrest.
Allegedly, he failed to stop at a stop sign after leaving, which caught the police’s attention and prompted officers to follow him as he began swеrving.
After officers pulled him over, Timberlake reportedly refused a breathalyzer test after failing a field sobriety test.
Although several of Timberlake’s friends allegedly attempted to persuade the police to give him a break, he was handcuffed and arrested, and the incident was captured on body cam.
It has also been noted that Timberlake had dinner with friends at a hotel in Sag Harbor before being pulled over as he attempted to drive back to his accommodation around midnight.
Even though sources close to Timberlake claimed the arrest stemmed from a traffic violation, police clarified that they do not typically take individuals into custody for minor traffic offenses.
As of the latest reports, Timberlake remained in custody, although he is expected to post bail and be released soon.
