In a recent outburst on Truth Social, ex-President Trump took a swipe at fellow Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley after their second debate, labeling her as lacking intellect.

He expressed his doubt about Haley receiving support from him and his “MAGA” base, commenting on her perceived lack of loyalty and truthfulness. He reminded his followers of Haley’s prior commitment not to run against him, recalling her praising his tenure as President. Trump noted her visit to Mar-a-Lago, suggesting she was trying to win his favor, but concluded that Haley lacks the ability and demeanor necessary for the presidency, evoking his “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” slogan.

This public comment from Trump emerged following criticisms from Haley and others during the recent debate, especially as Haley’s presence and popularity seem to be growing within the GOP presidential race.

Haley, in turn, addressed Trump’s remarks on platform X, suggesting they indicate her campaign’s upward trajectory.

She jovially remarked, “I appreciate the attention. It suggests we’re progressing and making waves. Let’s keep going!”

Recent polls from New Hampshire showed Haley securing second place with a 15% endorsement. Her role as the ex-U.N. ambassador and her augmented polling stats post her inaugural debate highlight her rising prominence.

At the aforementioned debate, Haley targeted Trump’s approach towards China during his term, claiming he gave undue emphasis to trade and overlooked other critical issues such as China’s alleged involvement in fentanyl distribution in the US, their activities in Cuba, and surveillance activities. She pinpointed these as Trump’s shortcomings.

Several participants also critiqued Trump for sidestepping the debate for another event. Haley, during her Fox News interview, stressed the importance of participation, stating, “You can’t secure a win if you’re not present.”

Earlier, the Trump team had targeted Haley post-debate, bringing up an old 2012 interview where she lauded Hillary Clinton. They also took issue with Haley’s advocacy for sustained U.S. assistance to Ukraine against Russian aggression, accusing her of being more inclined towards expenditure than seeking harmonious resolutions.
