(Patriot.Buzz) – Deriding the suffering of war-torn Israel and its citizens, an attorney working for the Biden administration in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is currently the subject of an investigation following her controversial social media activity.
Shekeba Morrad, who serves as an appellate attorney in the Department’s Office of the General Counsel, uploaded a video in which she mockingly addressed the plight of Israelis seeking the return of hostages held by Hamas, a group recognized by the United States as a terrorist organization.
Morrad adopts a sarcastic tone in the video, stating, “We just want our hostages back. Give us our 200 hostages.” Although she subsequently removed the video, it was captured and redistributed on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) by Canary Mission, an organization that, as per its profile, is dedicated to exposing antisemitism and hatred in academic settings and beyond.
Attempts to contact Morrad for a comment on the video did not yield an immediate response. Acknowledging the incident, the Department of Veterans Affairs has initiated an investigation and emphasized its commitment to addressing the situation appropriately.
A spokesperson for the Department condemned any expressions of anti-Semitism, bigotry, or hatred, stating, “There is no place at VA for anti-Semitism or any expression of bigotry or hatred.”
The incident and the video have elicited widespread criticism, including from Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), who expressed his disapproval on X. Senator Tillis stressed that antisemitism has no place in the Veterans Affairs Department and called for immediate action against the employee, saying, “This is unacceptable. Antisemitism has no place at the VA and this behavior should not be tolerated. @SecVetAffairs should remove this employee immediately.”
