(Patriot.Buzz) – To the amusement of Patriots all across the country, Democratic California US Representative Adam Schiff faced a setback during a visit to San Francisco when his luggage was mysteriously stolen.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Schiff’s belongings were taken from his car while it was parked in a downtown garage.
The theft left Schiff without his usual formal attire, so he had to attend a dinner party for his Senate campaign dressed in a shirt and hiking vest.
Schiff’s Public Relations agent showed a photo of Schiff speaking at a campaign event in Burlingame at Ristorante Rocca dressed more casually than his guests, who were in suits and ties.
“Yes, they took my bags,” Schiff confirmed to the outlet. “But I’m here to thank Joe,” he continued, referring to attorney Joe Cotchett, who is supporting Schiff’s bid to replace the late Democratic California Senator Dianne Feinstein.
Cotchett’s press agent Lee Houskeeper, who was at the dinner at Ristorante Rocca and warned Schiff not to leave anything in the car, reportedly said, “I guess it’s ‘Welcome to San Francisco.’”
Yet, Cotchett mentioned that Schiff did not seem bothered by the situation and he maintained composure throughout.
Likewise, Schiff expressed a desire not to dwell on the incident. “Adam really showed himself tonight,” Cotchett said. “He’ll be a great senator — he’s going to change the Senate tremendously.”
While Schiff’s experience is not unique, in just one of San Francisco’s popular tourist areas, North Beach, there were 2,500 car break-ins in the first seven months of 2023.
Moreover, some residents are resorting to leaving their trunks open to prevent break-ins, as crime rates have surged in recent years.
Nearly half of all crimes in San Francisco went unreported in 2023. Some residents are taking matters into their own hands, as local police departments have also become targets for criminals.
