(Patriot.Buzz) – Revealing the clear bias in mainstream media, a recent Media Research Center analysis unveiled a significant omission in the coverage by major network news outlets.
According to its findings, an overwhelming 90% of reports failed to mention that the key figures leading the legal challenges against former President Donald Trump are elected Democrats.
The Media Research Center’s examination of evening news coverage from ABC, CBS and NBC from January 1, 2023, to April 10, 2024, highlighted a consistent lack of disclosure regarding the Democratic affiliations of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, New York Attorney General Letitia James and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
All of them are pursuing separate legal actions against Trump.
For instance, ABC’s “World News Tonight” aired 56 segments on Bragg’s case against Trump but only mentioned Bragg’s Democratic affiliation once. Even then, it was in the context of quoting one of Trump’s spokesperson.
CBS did not acknowledge Bragg’s political affiliation in any of their 48 reports, while NBC slightly differed by labeling Bragg as a Democrat 16 times out of 59 stories to achieve a 27% mention rate.
Currently preparing himself for the hush money trial against Trump, Bragg ran for the Manhattan DA position as a Democrat in 2021. He used $1 million from a George Soros-supported philanthropy group to boost his campaign through various voter outreach efforts.
Tim Graham, Executive Editor of NewsBusters, criticized the networks for their portrayal, saying, “Just as the media try to present themselves as nonpartisan while they viciously trash Republicans, they present Trump’s prosecutors as nonpartisan public officials, when they are obviously partisan Democrats.”
Similarly, the networks failed to disclose James and Willis’ Democratic backgrounds in their coverage. For example, ABC acknowledged James’ affiliation in only one of 44 stories about her despite her anti-Trump stance in her attorney general campaigns.
NBC was somewhat more honest by mentioning James and Willis’ Democratic affiliations in a few reports but still fell short of a total disclosure across all coverage.
The Media Research Center’s analysis further revealed that Willis was rarely identified as a Democrat in network coverage, only being mentioned in 5% of the reports across the three networks.
Graham blasted the editorial decisions that downplay the political dynamics at play in these high-profile cases and revealed the media outlets’ double standard based on their political affiliations.
“They present the epic political battles of our time as between the ultraconservatives versus the nonpartisans,” he said.
