Kamala Attacks McCarthy

Kamala Harris

(Patriot.Buzz) – In an attempt to deflect attention away from the current administration’s abysmal performance, Kamala Harris attacked former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) for his remarks on Joe Biden’s lack of negotiation skills.

When New York Times journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin brought up McCarthy’s criticism during the DealBook Summit, Harris retorted, “With all due respect, when anyone who has had the experience McCarthy just had, I don’t think he’s a judge of negotiations.”

This comment was likely about McCarthy’s recent removal from his position as Speaker, which occurred when eight Republicans broke ranks and joined Democrats in voting against him.

Harris’s response followed McCarthy’s earlier critique of Biden’s negotiation abilities, particularly regarding the debt ceiling deal made in May to avert a financial default.

Speaking to Sorkin, McCarthy expressed his difficulties negotiating with Biden, stating that Biden was not as competent as he had been during his vice presidency. McCarthy remarked, “I could not negotiate the debt ceiling with Biden,” and elaborated that he instead worked with Biden’s staff to reach an agreement in September.

McCarthy further recounted his attempt to engage directly with Biden early in the year, proposing an early resolution to the debt ceiling issue. However, he suggested that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer undermined his efforts by advising Biden against collaborating with him.

McCarthy stated, “We kind of rammed around him, he said he was going to do it. Schumer then comes in and says, ‘Don’t do anything with Kevin, he can’t pass anything.’ And then I went for 97 days, I went to the media every day. And it wasn’t till I passed something that he could start negotiating.”

When questioned about Biden’s cognitive abilities, McCarthy did not directly address the issue but indicated that he would not endorse Biden for reelection if he were a Democrat.

“I’m explicitly saying if I had a choice of who I would pick, if I was a Democrat to be my nominee, to run the greatest country in the world, I would not give him — I would not reelect him,” he stated.
