GREENE FACES ALARMING SITUATION

A dangerous escalation in political rhetoric has now reached the point where a sitting congressman’s 22-year-old son faces assassination threats, revealing how toxic discourse threatens to destroy conservative unity and endanger innocent family members.

Story Snapshot

  • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s son, Derek, received specific assassination threats via email after Trump withdrew support from the congresswoman.
  • Greene accused Trump of using “dog whistle” rhetoric that endangers her family, following a pipe bomb threat at her business.
  • The feud erupted after Greene broke with Republicans on healthcare policy and pushed for the release of Jeffrey Epstein files.
  • Threats against lawmakers increased to nearly 9,500 in 2024, up from 8,000 in 2023, according to Capitol Police.

Assassination Threats Target Congressman’s Son

Rome, Georgia police received two emails on Monday morning, November 17, 2025, containing explicit death threats against Derek Greene, the 22-year-old son of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

The messages, sent from the same address, included statements like “I am going to assassinate MTG’s son” and “I already have the plane ticket booked… MTG’s son will have his life snuffed out soon.”

Police immediately forwarded the threats to the U.S. Secret Service for investigation, highlighting the dangerous reality facing conservative families.

Political Feud Escalates Between Trump and Greene

The threats emerged just hours after Greene publicly blamed President Trump for creating conditions that endanger her family. Greene accused Trump of making “unwarranted and vicious attacks” that serve as a “dog whistle to dangerous radicals.”

The feud intensified after Trump announced on Truth Social that he was withdrawing his support for the Georgia congresswoman.

Trump dismissed Greene’s safety concerns, telling reporters Sunday evening, “I don’t think her life is in danger. I don’t think, frankly, I don’t think anybody cares about her.”

Conservative Unity Fractures Over Key Issues

Greene has drawn criticism from Trump and other Republicans after breaking with her party on several high-profile issues. Most recently, she criticized the Republican approach to healthcare during the government shutdown and opposed the party’s opposition to releasing Jeffrey Epstein files.

Greene questioned what might be in those files, writing, “It really makes you wonder what is in those files and who and what country is putting so much pressure on him?” This independent stance has cost her Trump’s endorsement and created divisions within conservative ranks.

Dangerous Pattern of Political Violence Emerges

The threats against Greene’s family represent part of a troubling escalation in political violence. An Indiana state senator was swatted at his home on the same Sunday, just hours after Trump criticized him over congressional redistricting.

U.S. Capitol Police reported that threats against lawmakers and their families increased for the second consecutive year, rising from approximately 8,000 concerning statements in 2023 to nearly 9,500 in 2024. This dangerous trend threatens the foundation of democratic discourse and puts innocent family members at risk.
